Conversion Chart Discrepancies

I just discovered while posting my cheese sauce recipe that the conversion charts I've been using to make the recipes metric-compatible aren't true-to-experience at least for the dry measurements. For example, as I convert from cups and tablespoons to grams, the grams are way higher from these charts than what my kitchen scale shows I'm actually using. Ugh I'm going to have to go through recipes and indicate if they have been "verified by my kitchen scale" or not. I also mentioned this on the conversion chart I've posted on the sidebar. {Sorry, Marie!!}

From 2010: "Please join me as I learn how to change my veggie-less life into a veggie-friendly one..."

That was a long time ago! It's now 2019. Not only do I no longer have a "veggie-less" life, I am completely vegan!

Update: As of May 2020, I've taken my health up a notch and have eliminated all processed foods including oils, sugars, and salt. I'm learning to cook all over AGAIN, but it's so worth it. Recipes will be posted eventually. [June: began taking courses in plant based nutrition through Cornell University].

This recipe blog is mostly for our family. I haven't been able to teach my kids (who are now 19, 18, and 13) how to cook much, so this blogspot is for me to share our favorite recipes with them. You are welcome to visit and try whatever looks good :) The photos won't be fancy, etc. I'm just a mom re-teaching myself AGAIN how to cook and leaving something positive for my kids...hopefully that's an appreciation for plant-based eating as well as respect for all animals and the earth.
